Study the Biblical Worldview with us in this fourteen lesson series!
This first lecture introduces the concept of worldview and shows how valuable the study is for the development of a Christian mind.
Absolutely essential to the Christian world and life view is the truth that we live within a created order, not an accidental one. We ourselves are “creatures” of the great God.
Is life significant? – or do we have to carve out our own ideas of significance in order to help us get through the day?
The Bible reveals that all reality has a certain structure to it and a direction in which it is tending. When we discover God’s structure we start to understand how creation works.
The world is a wonderful place, but we must not fool ourselves that it can be brought to some Utopia. Sin pervades it and God’s curse is upon it.
Though many within evangelicalism reject the global deluge, it is essential that we view this world as far removed from the one which God made originally.
Christian morality is the only system of ethics which is grounded in a moral Law-Giver. When we know ourselves as God’s image-bearers (though fallen), we know the One who grounds the absolutes upon which things like truth and justice rest.
Although many people say the doctrine of the Trinity is an obscure teaching, as a matter of fact the Triune God has placed numerous markers within the material and immaterial realms which witness to the Trinity.
Jesus Christ is the central figure in world history. Moreover, Scripture reveals that every aspect of reality is somehow connected to Him in His death, resurrection and rule.
Revelation is the doctrine upon which every other aspect of knowledge is constructed. Christian knowledge is “revelational knowledge.” Even our knowledge of the universe is revealed to us. The Bible is the prism through which God’s revelation in nature is properly comprehended.
