Kingdom through Covenant – A Review
The authors of his book are proponents of what is called “New Covenant Theology”, which rejects the theological covenants of Covenant Theology. NCT has become popular with Reformed Baptists who never quite felt at home with CT owing mostly to its views on the Church. However, NCT, in rejecting the covenant of grace, simply transfers the ‘rights and privileges’ of that theological covenant to their version of the New covenant. As well their ‘Creation covenant’ functions quite like the covenant of works of CT, so that they can utilize most of the intellectual ammo of CT, with its eschatology, while claiming not to be Covenant Theologians.
